About Us
A property law practice, and nothing else
Juris And Nova Chambers advises exclusively on property and real estate law in Chennai and across Tamil Nadu — from a single legal opinion to contested litigation before the Madras High Court.
Who we act for
Our clients are property buyers and sellers, landowners, builders and developers, NRIs, businesses acquiring premises, and families caught in disputes over inherited property. What connects them is a single asset class where the stakes are high and the records are rarely tidy.
A property matter usually arrives in one of three shapes. Someone is about to pay money and wants to know whether the title is safe. Someone has already paid and discovered a problem. Or a family holding has to be divided, transferred or defended. Each requires a different combination of documentation, revenue work and litigation — and we practise all three.
We do not take divorce, criminal, labour, taxation or corporate matters. Concentrating on one field is what allows us to read a thirty-year title chain quickly, recognise a revenue record that will not survive scrutiny, and advise on whether a dispute is genuinely worth fighting.
How we work
Every engagement begins with documents, not opinions. We retrieve records independently rather than relying on what the other side has supplied, we put our conclusions in writing, and we grade risk honestly — fatal, curable or acceptable.
Documentation and verification work is quoted as a fixed fee. Litigation is quoted stage by stage, so you always know what the next commitment is before it is incurred. Where a registered settlement is faster and cheaper than a decree, that is what we recommend.

Our commitments
- Written position before any money is spent on litigation
- Independent retrieval of title and revenue records
- Fixed fees for documentation and verification
- Updates after every hearing, in writing
- Settlement recommended whenever it beats a decree
Our Principles
What sets the chambers apart
Property Law Only
A single-domain practice. We do not divide attention across unrelated fields — every hour we bill is spent on property, land and real estate matters.
Madras High Court Practice
Regular appearances in writs, appeals, probate and original side property matters, alongside the city civil courts and TNRERA.
NRI-Ready Process
Digital documentation, video consultations, site verification and power of attorney handling built for clients who cannot travel.
Fixed, Written Fees
Documentation and verification work is quoted as a fixed fee. Litigation is quoted stage-wise. No open-ended billing.
Documentary Rigour
Thirty-year title tracing, independent record retrieval and written risk grading — not a signature on a template opinion.
Settlement First
Where a registered settlement beats a decree, we say so. Litigation is a tool, not a default.
Our Process
From first call to resolution
Consultation
We hear the facts, identify the legal question and tell you at the outset whether you have a matter worth pursuing.
Document Review
Title deeds, encumbrance certificates, revenue records and approvals are retrieved independently and read against each other.
Legal Opinion
You receive a written opinion setting out the position, the defects, the risk grading and the options available to you.
Action
Drafting and registration, a statutory notice, or filing with interim protection — whichever the situation actually requires.
Resolution
We pursue the matter to a registered document, a decree or a settlement, and follow through to execution and mutation.
Get a clear legal position on your property
One consultation is usually enough to know whether your title is safe, your dispute is worth pursuing, or your documentation needs fixing.
